Embed Regpack into a Google Site

Last Updated: Feb 26, 2014 04:04PM PST
Embedding Regpack on a Google Site is a little different since because Google handles javascript a little differently than other site-hosting providers. You will need to create a gadget to "hold" the Regpack system What you need to do is create a gadget.

‚ÄčThere are two ways to do this:
1. Option 1: You can create the gadget and publish it on a server. In order to do this do the following:
• Open a text editing application and create an xml file.
In the file add the following:

<ModulePrefs title="Custom Gadget" />

• Save the file and publish it on a server.
• Write for yourself the link that allows you to get to the file on the web. This is your "gadget link"
2. Option 2: You can request that we create the gadget for you and we will give you a link in order to publish on the google site.
Please send a request to to create a google gadget for your website.
We will create the gadget file, publish it on our server and send you the link you need to use.
The link that you will receive from the support team is your "gadget link"

Publishing the Regpack system on your Google site:
1. Create the page that you want to add Regpack into.
2. Click the "insert" option and select "more gadgets"
3. You will get a prompt with various options. Select the "Add gadget by URL" option
4. Enter in the window prompt you get your "gadget link". You have two options here:
• The gadget link will be the link you published on your server.
• If you have requested the Regpack support team to create the gadget for you the link is normally of the following structure:<insert group number>/general/<insert group number>.xml.
Note: Change "<insert group number>" to the specific group number of your Regpack build. We can provide this for you whenever you need it.
5. After that you are asked about the width (keep it at 100%) and the height (list that as something like 1000px, it seems that they block our automatic resizing of the widget to make it look like it is an internal part of the page. But if you select something crazy like 1000px or even 2000px it should be fine)
6. Select "Include a scrollbar on gadget when necessary"
7. Click OK. You will see an ugly grey box and it will look like it did not work. Well... it actually did :-)
8. Click on "save" for the page and the google site will present the page to you and presto! The Regpack system is in there!
